Senior Laboratory Scientist - Scottish Veterinary Laboratory Services Ltd (SVLS)

SVLS is a new veterinary clinical pathology laboratory based on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The laboratory will be part of the TDDS group of veterinary diagnostic laboratories and is being established as a joint venture between Biobest Laboratories Ltd and TDDS. It is anticipated that the lab service will be launched in June 2009.

The TDDS group offers a full range of diagnostic testing for veterinary practices. The group is founded on the principles of providing timely, high quality results accompanied by expert and accessible reporting and adheres to the small business philosophy of personal service, hard work and friendliness.

Biobest is a specialist veterinary virology, serology and DNA diagnostics business whose strength derives from their expertise in virology and molecular biology. This allows them to design and validate their own assays, all compliant with Good Laboratory Practice. Biobest provides laboratory procedures with an unmatched combination of quality, service and price. The SVLS laboratory is in the process of being set up and we are now looking to recruit a Senior Laboratory Scientist who will be responsible for the day to day laboratory operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a degree in Biomedical Sciences (or similar) to bring his or her skills and knowledge to bear in an enthusiastic manner to help a new company grow, in return full training will be given in all relevant techniques. Starting salary will be dependant on qualifications and experience but will be in the region of £23,000 - £28,000.
