Assistant Scientist
Applications are invited for the above position. The successful applicant will work as part of a team in the diagnosis of fish disease. The main techniques involved are sample preparation, virus isolation and ELISA. Compliance with Good Laboratory Practice and ISO:17025 will be required at all times.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a degree in one of the Biological Sciences or a related discipline to bring his or her skills and knowledge to bear in an enthusiastic manner to help a small company to grow. In return full training will be given in all relevant techniques. The position will be available for approximately 3 months starting in October.
Due to the volume of samples to be tested this work will be performed out with our normal operations and as such the start time for this position will be 13:00, Monday to Friday (some Saturday working will also be required). Due to fluctuations in demand the hours will vary from 4 - 8 per day. Salary will be in the region of £8 - £10 per hour + bonus structure depending on qualifications and experience.
