Sending your sample (from overseas)
Biobest accepts samples from overseas, either directly or through a partner laboratory. If you wish to submit samples direct to Biobest please download the appropriate paperwork.
**(20 Aug 07) As a result of fluctuations in currency exchange and increasing bank charges to Biobest we have changed two of our overseas charges with immediate effect. These prices reflect the sterling price and continue to offer extremely good value with excellent testing capability and turnaround.
New charges: 8000 Japanese Yen per sample / US$ 70 per sample.**
Non EU Rabies Serology Submission (Heathrow) Guidance Note
Biobest also has partner laboratories in many countries, please see the drop down menu to see if we have a partner laboratory in your country. If we do then you can either submit your sample through them, or directly to Biobest.
NEW There is new submission form for our Japanese customers. To download a copy please click here.
Important Information
It is possible to send your samples and payment directly to Biobest.
If possible, have your veterinary surgeon centrifuge the blood sample and send only the serum.
We would prefer 1ml of serum, however 2ml of clotted blood would be acceptable provided it is not in transit too long.
There is no need to ensure samples remain frozen or refrigerated in transit provided they get to us achieved 5-7 days of dispatch.
Biobest recommend that you use a recognised courier service to get the samples to us.
Please download a copy of both import licences (contained in paperwork download) and include these with your package.
It is important that you download a submission form and that it is completed accurately and in full, and signed by the veterinary surgeon.
A completed form must accompany each sample. If sending overseas samples direct to Biobest, please ensure you include all the completed paperwork. Payment (£32.50, US $70, Euro 50, Japanese Yen 8000 per sample) is possible by credit card, cash or Sterling cheque (made payable to Biobest). Payment must be received before results will be reported.
